Lately I have been experimenting with creating organic flowing shapes. I love using left over paint and then keep adding to it. Whilst it is still wet I make marks with some soft edged tools and add details later. It feels good to let the work come to life without much thinking. This one reminded me of reeds, our world's natural water purifyers. Hope you like it too!

Hello! Kia Ora! Hallo! My name is Marianne Korten and I am a creative adventurer living in New Zealand. My profile is pretty global considering I was born in The Netherlands 50+ years ago and previously called Australia home as well. After 3 years of traveling around the world fuelled by house sitting assignments, my partner and I choose a small seaside town on the stunning South Island in New Zealand as our location to lay down our sweaty, dusty cap. I love being outdoors, kayaking, walking, tramping (hiking for non-Kiwis), working at the local library, playing badminton, going to the movies, designing my life(styles) and admiring gorgeous flowers! With wildlife and beautiful landscapes at our doorstep there is no need to go far to explore the wonders of the natural world.

Internally I have roamed my inner space for many decades and had my own career and life coaching practice in Amsterdam helping international clients (expatriates) to find the answers to their heart's questions and build an attractive life and work environment.

End of 2022 I started to focus on making art and since photography had been my life-long favourite I was attracted to visual arts and began painting in water colours, acrylic and using mixed media techniques to bring the impressions of the outdoors inside. It led to studying surface pattern design and learning Adobe Illustrator and creating a home studio to discover where this creativity path would lead me.

Now I am eager to share my findings with you and hopefully we can become a great match to design your dream future and make this a reality.
